The Orion Multigas Detector is a low cost, reliable and easy-to-use portable instrument for detecting the presence of O2, H2S, CO and combustible gas.
It will stand up to the roughest handling in even the toughest environments. A charger and optional built-in sampling pump are included in the price.
One-button Calibration
Calibration is intuitive. It’s accomplished with the push of a single button. This auto-calibration feature greatly simplifies calibration and reduces training needs. Adjustments are limited to 30 percent of the expected span value, which helps to prevent improper calibration.
Tough, Durable Construction
The Orion Multigas Detector has excellent resistance to penetration from water and dust, allowing it to perform in the harshest environments. The unit has a weather resistance rating of IP54 and has successfully passed a six-foot drop test.
Large, Easy-To-Read Display
With one of the largest displays of any four-gas portable detector on the market, the Orion Multigas Detector is easy to read. Its backlighting provides exceptional contrasts, making it easy to read in low-light conditions and from a variety of angles. All four gases are displayed at one time, along with measured readings. Alarm lights are also easily visible from all angles.

Long-Life Battery
The Orion Multigas Detector accommodates either a NiMH battery pack or alkaline batteries. The NiMH battery pack provides up to 16 hours of continuous instrument operation in pumped mode and up to 20 hours in the nonpump mode. And, a full battery charge using MSA’s Fast Charger takes less than four hours. With alkaline batteries, the unit will operate a minimum of eight hours in pump mode.
Built-In Pump
The low price of the Orion Multigas Detector includes the option to have a built-in pump for remote sampling of the environment.
Durable Sensors
The combustible gas sensor in the Orion Multigas Detector is the Series 20L sensor. The 20L sensor provides up to 50 times the silicone poison tolerance, which considerably expands the service life of the sensor.
All the sensors used in the Orion Multigas Detector are easy to maintain. Simply remove three screws, remove the sensor cover and lift out the sensors.
Carbon-Filled-Nylon Case
A durable, carbon-filled-nylon case makes the Orion Multigas Detector an excellent choice for use in the toughest of conditions, as well as for use in corrosive environments.
TIM® System Compatibility
Order the data-logging option available for the Orion Multigas Detector to make the unit fully compatible with MSA’s TIM Total Instrument Manager System. As the industry’s leading computerized calibration system, the TIM System allows users to automatically calibrate their instruments and track calibration records.
Link™ Software
The Orion Multigas Detector is compatible with the MSA FiveStar Link software. Display functions and manipulation of data are simplified. The graphing capability can be used to view all gases simultaneously or to focus on one at a time. Software provides a "zoom" feature, making it possible to expand any portion of a single gas graph to focus on activity in more detail.
