It will reduce interference from mineralised soil or background influence such as salt water. MD420 PBD was developed with the help of British and US military supporting UN- and humanitarian mine clearance operations in Africa, South East Asia and Europe. The detector head sends out short magnetic pulses which force conductive targets to respond with an electromagnetic echo. The detector transforms the signal into an audible alarm, which depends in its intensity on the size of the located target.
