The durable finish trim has a steel core and neoprene rubber exterior. The helmet is painted flat black or navy. The shell is manufactured to accept a shield system to assure facial protection. Liner The liner is made of expanded polystyrene specialty bead that has been designed to meet the standards for helmet safety and provides maximum impact energy attenuation. Sizing System A comfortable moisture managing sizing system with interchangeable sizing strips is attached to the EPS with Velcro. The strips are easily removed for cleaning and replacement. The sizing strips make adjusting the helmet to a custom fit easy without sacrificing comfort, stability and durability. Retention System The retention system consists of a comfortable, secure harness system that includes a chin strap made of ¾” black tubular soft slide webbing that is bar tacked in all critical areas. The strap also includes a soft, comfortable chin cup and D-rings for a complete adjustable safety strap. An optional DOT/NIJ Quick Release is available. Tactical Face Shield The helmet is equipped with a full flip up clear polycarbonate shield of optical grade. The liquid seal is designed to prevent passage of liquids from the helmet dome or shield surface into the interior of the shield when in the down position. The shield is installed with mounting blocks to the helmet by thumb screws to allow for adjustment to the desired position. The shield meets or exceeds National Institute of Justice 0104.02 (RIOT) and 0105.01 (CRASH). Tactical Neck Protection A permanent tactical neck protector for extended protection and comfort is a standard part of this helmet. It also accepts a snap-on Nape Curtain to further extend the chemical protection over the shoulder area.
