Safety hand tools are specially engineered for use in safety-sensitive applications to reduce the risk of injury to the user. These unique tools are often referred to as "non-sparking," or "spark-reduced" safety tools. Safety Tools offer the additional product features of being non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant.
Commonly used hand tools are often manufactured of steel alloys. These materials can emit mechanical sparks that possess heat levels high enough to ignite most flammable or combustible materials.
Non-sparking, or "spark reduced" hand tools generate only those sparks sometimes referred to as "cold sparks." These cold sparks have a low heat level and do not even ignite carbon disulfide, which has the lowest ignition point of any substance known to man. |
