The easy to use software on the built-in touch screen computer allows the system to be used with only minimal operator training. It can be ready for operation in a few minutes, and measurements typically take only seconds to complete. The unknown material is then automatically identified and results are displayed clearly on the screen. The Mobile-IR is designed for easy cleaning and decontamination after use. If desired, the analysis results can be transmitted to a main computer using USB, Ethernet, or wireless interfaces. The sampling interface allows easy measurement of even small amounts of powder, paste or liquid, or small pieces of unknown material. This sampling interface and the large number of infrared spectral libraries that are available make the Mobile-IR suitable for a wide range of applications.
